Varsity.com Spirit Central Forums are designed for users of various ages and backgrounds, and users are expected to adhere to our code of conduct. Our forums have an array of volunteer moderators who help keep the boards clean & useable for our visitors. These moderators have broad abilities and rights to edit and delete posts and administrators may additionally ban users at their discretion in order to keep the forums clean and improve the atmosphere of our community. Specifically, the following rules are in place:
- In compliance with the 2000 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), you must be at least 13 years old to post on these boards.
- Do not SPAM or post multiple copies of similar messages.
- Do not engage in insults, flames, or attacks on other individuals or groups. Be respectful of others.
- Do not post messages or images containing inappropriate or adult language or content.
- Do not select a username containing inappropriate or adult language or content. If your username is deemed to be inappropriate, you will be asked to provide another name that will be displayed instead of your username.
- Do not post messages encouraging or discussing illegal or unethical behavior.
- Use proper spelling on our boards. "IM" language, such as substituting "u" for "you" and "ne1" for "anyone" will not be allowed. Our moderators will be deleting messages containing improper spelling. Messages containing words "SpeLLeD iN DiFfEReNt cApS LiKe ThIs" will also be deleted.
- Unless you are trying to express that you are indeed yelling, DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS. It is difficult to read.
- Do not post your email address, IM Screen Name or other personal information such as full names on the message boards, in signatures, or in private messages, with the exception of schools searching for a coach, or adult coaches looking for a position on our Job Board. This is for your protection. People are not always who they portray themselves to be.
- Please use the "Search" feature before starting a new post. Your question may already be answered! If there is already a topic that matches yours, post your question in an existing topic.
- Please post a title relevant to the content of your message. Posting "HELP PLEASE!!!" or another non-descriptive title will decrease the likelihood of your message getting replies.
- These message boards are part of Varsity.com, which is the website for Varsity Brands, Inc. Do not post information regarding companies that are not affiliated with Varsity Brands, even if it is negative. URL's and images that are not affiliated with Varsity Brands will be deleted at the discretion of the administrators.
- Images may be allowed on the forums but will be appropriately sized so as not to detract from the forum experience. Images which are distinguishably from non-varsity Brands events may not be posted. Images from games, pep rallies, and practices may be posted. All image must be legal for the teams performing those skills and may be removed at the discretion of the forum administrators or moderators. Abuse of this feature will cause the feature to be removed.
- Images used for signatures must be less than 200 pixels in height and cannot be animated images or link to non-Varsity Brands sites.
- Images used for avatars must be related to cheerleading, dance or mascots, or can come from the avatars provided on the boards. They cannot be of an individual unless it is a mascot in uniform. Examples of allowed images would be; stunt group, squad photo, formation at a game with several cheerleaders or dancers, school logo, mascot image, or an avatar selected from the board-provided list. Examples of prohibited avatars would be; any individual image even in uniform (except for a mascot), group image of friends that is not a cheer- or dance-related image, any company logo (these are reserved for company representatives on the boards). If you have questions about an image, please PM an administrator or post the question on the boards.
- We do not allow soliciations for products, services, websites or squads as we cannot 'vet' every solicitation. Coaches openings can be posted in their appropriate forum.
- Last, use this message board as a resource, not a chat room. If you want to post something directly to someone that isn't in regard to a message, you can send them a "Private Message".
Administrators have the right to ban users who cause problems on these boards. Moderators are also authorized to delete all posts of users who constantly cause problems.
Because our moderators are human, each will have a different opinion on what is or is not acceptable content. Occasionally, some posts will get deleted which maybe another moderator would leave alone -- this is simply a part of the job. Users who keep their posts clean and friendly should have no problems -- the moderators are not employees of Varsity Brands, but are forum users just like yourself who make these forums possible and enjoyable.
