Hello,  I will be trying out to be a semi pro football team cheerleader in the North County of San Diego in May.  I was reading some of the the replies about Pro Cheerleader how they are not really cheerleaders but dancers.  Well this sqaud states that it will be both cheer and pom dance.  Im a little nervous becasue my backgorund is cheer only and I am not that great of a dancer.  Its to late to start taking a dance class but do you think if I watch some music videos that would help me out.  Please someone give me some advice on how to become a decent dancer in just a few weeks.

Since they specificially mention "pom" as opposed to hip hop, lyrical, etc, I would recommend watching pom routines on Varsity TV.  I think of "pom" as being the most similar to the kinds of dance routines cheer teams often do (as opposed to some of the much more technical dance routines that are out there in other styles. You likely couldn't learn those techniques that quickly).

My semi-pro team is a cheer team.  Our dances are the type one would learn at college or high school cheer camp (as opposed to dance camp).

Good luck at tryouts.
