Are members supposed to be able to view other member's profile page: That is, athlete vs. coach, etc, recent posts by that member, etc? If not, then what is the purpose of the profile tab on the blue toolbar? Thanks in advance for clarifying.

Have you tried the blue profile tab? It gives you the ability to see your own profile and edit it.

I have been wondering the same thing, when I click on your name, Kong, to view your profile it comes up with an error message. It says, "An Error Has Ocurred. Many apologies, but you can't view just any profile".

I've used the blue tab profile before, but why edit my profile if I'm the only one who can see it? Sorry, can you please clarify further. I'm having the same problem as YVCheercoach. Thanks.

How do you view other peoples profile? do you have to have a certain number of posts like with the spirit points?

For security reasons, we don't allow anyone to access other's profiles.
Why you would want to access your own profile would be to change your email address, displayed name, etc. Yes, there are places to put your AIM, Yahoo, etc. but it's just part of the software. We can't "not" show those on the profile page.

One thing that I liked about the previous boards was that I could tell if the person posting was a cheerleader, coach or administrator. Any chance that feature will find it's way back? It'd also be helpful to know what level & state people are from... I can't remember if that was a part of the original boards or if I was just wishing it was... HaHaHa!

No, they were all on there...and that's what I miss from the old boards as well, and that's why I was confused about not getting to see others' profiles. I couldn't care less what other members' IM's are, but it would be nice to know the State, level, position (athlete, coach, etc.).

I agree with the other two posts-- I would like to see state, level, position, etc under the person's name.

Another vote for state, level, etc. I like to know what perspective peoples ideas come from.

I'll see if that's something we can work with in the profile and the left-side box, but yes, you can always put that in your "Custom Title" as Let's Go Red said, or in your signature which we are allowing on this board.

Are you still allowed to send people private messages to their message center? If so how? I have been trying for ever and can't figure it out. I would like to respond to one of the coaches seeking boards and would rather not post the info. Thanks..

I have a different set up than you do, but if you check under a person's name and icon there are two other icons. The one that looks like a speech bubble is a PM. You can PM the person using that function.

Would it be possible to allow people to decide individually if they want their profiles "public"? I know I've already posted on this topic about the advantage of knowing what level posters are & if they are a coach or a cheerleader, but I also recall that on the old boards you could see what other topics someone had posted in. So, if I thought that "Coach X" had posted an awesome reply to a certain topic & wanted to see what other advice they had given on other topics, I was able to do that through the profile page. I actually used it quite often! Especially since the board was well established by the time I made it on there...

Coach C,
I don't know if this is an administrator only thing, but if I click on the person's name and pull up their profile, toward the bottom of their profile is something that lets you see their recent topics that they posted in.

It's admin only. Now, if you'll just make us all admins, that'll solve the problem.

Yeah, anytime I try to click on someone's name, I get told that I can't view "just anyone's profile".
