HI all,
My girls will be attending camp with USA this coming week, and we're all super excited. Although, I've been to USA camp (years ago, granted) many times, and know what to expect as a cheerleader, I'm a little nervous about what I can expect as the coach. I have the schedule and know that I'll have a couple hours a day in coach's/advisor's workshops and I know when I'm not in my own workshops I will be looking in on the workshops my girls are doing, but is there anything else I should expect. For instance, during meals do you as a coach, typically sit with other coach's or your squad? Do the coach's get together to make up a routine for rally night? I know my Q's are probably a little sillly, but I'd really appreciate any feedback you all might have for me!
Thanks in advance~ Smiley

It really depends on what camp you go to and what you personally want to do.  I have been to USA Camps before where the coaches did get together to make up a routine and some don't.  As for sitting with your team during meals, that is your personal preference.  I like to sit with my team as we talk about the material, how things are going, etc.  I consider camp not only a time for the girls to bond, but for them to bond with me as well.  The better the relationship and more respect they have for you, the easier your job as a Coach will be.  But, if you feel like you want to get away from the girls (don't we all at some point during camp! Grin) then feel free to sit with other coaches.  I usually sit with my team for most of the meals and with other coaches for a couple.  It's completely up to you though.

We have attended USA camp for the past 3 years and love it.  As a coach, I do attend the coaches workshops and do participate in planning a skit for the rally - the girls really love seeing their coaches performing for them.  this year's theme was Circus and it was really fun.

We also spend time talking with other coaches throughout the day as well are watching what our team is doing.

We planned activities for our team to do in the evenings and even plotted a practicle joke.

As far as meal time, often the girls dine and dash and make it to the dining hall before we did!  If we did sit with them, we asked about how their day was going and what stood out for them.

Hope you have a good time!
