Pomeroy High School is considering cutting it's spirit program due to budget constrants. Pomeroy is about 50 minutes from where I live (Lewiston, Idaho). Cheerleading is as big here in the Northwestwern United States compared to the South. Here is the link:

My old high school completely cut all funding to the cheer program the year after I graduated. It's really sad but the school was cutting budget corners everywhere.

For about 5 years the program thrived and was better then ever (it just folded this year, not enough people tried out) because of awesome coaches who volunteered their time, and lots of organized fundraising.

So hopefully it's not the end of the road for them.
