After I actually started focusing on it and not just playing around with them, two and a half weeks.  I would throw them by myself but I kept opening up too early.

Just about five months. I started like, end of december and got it the day before tryouts! (5/14)

It was a long time ago so I don't remember the exact length, but it took about 5 months I think. The thing that really helped me was going into the gym on my own and working on them. As an allstar we were allowed to use the gym whenever. I would go in for 30 - 45 minutes extra a couple of times each week and grab either a panel mat or a wedge start at the top and throw them over and over moving down the mat after I landed 5 perfect ones.
